T O P I C R E V I E WTimT64I have a couple of of V-2 memorabilia presentations that were created by Ken Havekotte. I thought it would be nice to build some V2 models to display alongside the memorabilia. The presentations are: A flown fragment of a V2 launch from 1946.A commemorative postal cover signed by four of the original V2 launch team. The models are: Takom 1-35th kit with a 3D printed WAC Corporal second stage, Built as Bumper 5 which at the time of its flight set a new altitude record of 248 miles.Pegasus Models kit 1-48th scale, built as test flight No13, which is credited with taking the first picture of the earth from outer space.Kora Models 1-72nd, Built as test flight No47 which was one of the Blossom series of rocket that had a lengthened body which was to accommodate a parachute recovery system for experiment retrieval. PeterOVery well done models, Tim! I've built the Pegasus kit as Bumper 8, the first launch from Cape Canaveral on July 24, 1950. I scratchbuilt the WAC Corporal upper stage.GACspaceguyWow, very nice collection!TimT64 quote:Originally posted by PeterO:Very well done models, Tim! You have got the profile of the spin rockets absolutely spot onKen HavekotteIncredible work, Tim, as I love them all, especially Bumper 8 as the first Cape rocket launch that was a specialty research area of mine for decades and still is.I also have some relics of Launch Pad #3 that perhaps you can use in some way at the base of the launch ring-pedestal platform(s) or something. Let me see what I have (no charge) and I'll get back to you.
